“The biggest shock was recently when I was being measured for my wedding dress and in the five months since my first fitting, of which for three of those I had increased my carbs and calories, I had lost 5cms off my waist and 4cms off my hips! I was shocked but so excited!”

1. Why did you decide to start personal training?lO
I decided to do personal training because I felt like I had hit a slump in my fitness goals and I need to shake things up. I previously did a lot of running, boot camp and sports but wanted to try something different. I also couldn’t shift the weight I wanted too.

2. Why did you decide to go with Fortitude Performance?
I had attended Alpha Chick Fit Camp sessions and liked the way you trained your clients, you took the time to understand each persons individual goals, you took the time to understand our strengths and weaknesses and you too pride in your work. You are continually trying to learn more and do more to better yourself as a trainer as that’s why I wanted to try personal training with you.

3. How was it working with your trainer?
At first it was tough because I hadn’t done weights training in a few years and you were very meticulous with my form and how I was doing each exercise, I also had to keep a training diary! You explained what muscle groups were working, you explained and demonstrated how to do each exercise and you paid attention. The way you train made me want to be better and I was really excited. Now I love training with you now and I’m grateful for the time you took to get me to where I’m at today, I have so much fun each session, even the 5am sessions.

4. Have you changed your perception of what girls are capable of?
Definitely! But it’s also been about changing my perception of what I am capable of. Each time I reach a new goal or lift a heavier weight my perception changes again, it’s so exciting!

5. So what does it mean to be an Alpha Chick?
Being an alpha chick means I’m feeling stronger, I’m more confident in myself and I am actually getting stronger! The Alpha Chick group is seriously awesome, it has been great meeting new people to train with, share ideas with and to encourage each other.

6. What changes have you noticed since you started training?
I am so much stronger than I used to be, I am much more confident, I’m happier in myself and I eat so much more food but have still lost centimeters.
