Weekly Food Prep: Part 1

THE SHOP

One of the easiest ways to be successful during the week is to make sure that your food is prepped ahead of time. Much like when you went to school and had your bag packed with all your meals for the day. Now that you are an adult you get to do the same thing!

Even more exciting is that you actually get to cook fantastic meals that have excited for the next chance you get to eat. How good is that?

The first stop in our weekly preparation will be the grocery store to stock up on all our ingredients. I thought it would be a good idea to outline for you an example shop that I take myself. First up lets look at how I break down which foods I need before I go

WHAT FOODS DO I NEED?

This table makes sure that I am covering all of my macro nutrients and then the next part becomes simply dividing the meals into portions so I am able to hit my targets for each meal

AN EXAMPLE DAY HITTING ALL MY MACRO TARGETS PER MEAL

Here is an example day using all of the ingredients and hitting my targets per meal of

Main Meals C/F/P = 35/15/35 (cheeky little Ice Cream Sandwich included )

Breakfast C/F/P = 0/25/35

COME WITH ME FOR A FOOD SHOPPING TOUR

You want to finish you shopping quickly right? well this video will show you how when you have a plan for you shopping that you can be in and out.

So that is an easy way to think about organising your weekly shop and to make sure that you are still able to hit your calorie and macro targets for the week.

This sort of planning at the beginning can be harder, although down the track it becomes second nature and a much easier way to be in control of your eating long-term.

So let me know any troubles you have or any successes you have managed with this little article on your weekly food shop.
